Here are international rules and norms for interpretation of
commercial terms by the International Chamber of Commerce.
Their objective is to establish criteria and definitions on
the distribution of costs, transport and risks between the
exporter and the importer. There are 13 terms the Intercoms
regulate:
EXW, FAS, FOB, CFR, CIF, DES, DEQ, DAF, DDP, DDU, FCA, CPT and
CIP. Delivery of merchandise, transmission of risks,
distribution and costs, proceedings permissions and documents.
But they do not regulate the form of payment nor the
applicable legislation.
